Field trip to the Salvucci Farm
As part of the theme ‘Milk, dairy products and the farm’, the children from the two third-year classes of the primary school visited a farm just outside Rome. There they had the opportunity to feed the cows and even milk them themselves. Afterwards, they discovered fascinating details about cheese production and, with great pride, were able to take home a piece of the cheese they had seen being made.
But that’s not all: the children also got to know farm life at first hand and met geese, chickens, donkeys, sheep, rabbits and even ostriches. The many activities on offer really excited them and the trip turned out to be a real success!
A few days earlier, in class, the children had already made butter with their own hands. With great enthusiasm they watched as, through a few simple steps, whole cream was transformed into creamy butter. The most eagerly awaited moment was definitely the tasting: spread on a slice of healthy, wholesome bread, the homemade butter tasted really delicious!
